“Faith is believing in things when common sense tells you not to.” -Fred Gailey, Miracle on 34th Street.
This particular quote may be referencing the belief in Santa Claus, but for me it speaks to a more intimate part of my heart; a very real, very precious part of me.
I have believed in a God that can’t see since I was a little girl, and while that hasn’t stopped bad things from happening in my life, it hasn’t stopped the good things either. I have watched His faithfulness in every season.
Unlike Santa, I’ve heard the voice of God, witnessed miracles, and experienced an incredible peace and freedom that can only be explained by the supernatural.
I think we all want to believe in something good, in something mysterious, miraculous, and something greater than ourselves. I also believe a little bit of faith can go a really long way.
Wherever you find yourself this season, I hope you know that there is a God that cares about you personally and intimately. He knit you in your momma’s womb, and He really does love you, He loves me.
Faith begins at the end of our own human understanding; our own common sense. Faith can make a way even when tangible things say different.
Chase and I continued our tradition of seeing Miracle on 34th Street today at the beautiful Alabama Theatre and the warm and fuzzy feelings are in full effect. But, in the midst of the fuzzy feelings, I am reminded that in the difficult seasons…
“I believe. I believe. I believe.”
What do you believe?
*Quick Side Note: I had a goal by the end of the year to be spontaneous enough to post a blog from my phone in real-time, and I just did it! This may not be perfectly curated and my grammar may be rough, but I am feeling pretty free (more on that later). Things don’t always have to look or be a certain way- including this blog!
