Hey, you know how you feel like you have to show up with it all together all the time. Repeat after me, THIS IS UNREALISTIC & UNACHIEVABLE. Go ahead and make peace with it (*ahem, I’m looking at me) Yet, for some reason, it has been inundated in us that we can’t show up until the packaging is wrapped seamlessly and flawlessly —specifically when it comes to living creatively. Every time I come back from a trip, I always have a difficult time transitioning back to my reality. Travel sets my soul on fire and settling back into life after returning home causes my spirit to become uncomfortable.
I think travel is healthy, and I believe it is used to break down walls we’ve subconsciously built in our minds over time. Familiar environments tend to create monotony that isn’t noticed until it is broken.
I am not a fan of monotony. I don’t like comfortable- until I do.

I have been running from God, and I am low on energy. It takes a lot out of you when you are trying to avoid your source for EVERYTHING.
Finding Truth in a Land of Confusion
“I’m so confused at what God is doing.” I texted these words to a friend a few weeks ago. She quickly responded with something I’ve known (and even told others) for years: God does not bring confusion. God brings clarity. In the middle of a big decision, I allowed confusion to take from the confidence of what I knew to be true.
Finding Hope in Ruin
I don’t know why bad things happen, and I wish I knew why hurricanes happen and leave people in ruin.
The one thing I do know is that ruin is always followed by rebuilding. Starting over is hard, it takes time, and it’s a process of letting go and letting something new find its way into our lives.
Rebuilding is never comfortable, and it never looks like the way we thought it should, and for the people of those in Hurricane Micheal’s path- they know this far too well.
