This is not your story. The defeat, hurt, chaos, and confusion.
This is not your story.
The anger, sadness, and anxiety.
You are in a chapter.
Victory, healing, quiet, and clarity.
These things are on their way.
Joy, contentment, peace.
These are yours to take.
The pain that persists is not your story; this is not your destiny; this is a chapter, this is a preparing, a propelling into your calling. I know a God who is more persistent than the hurt and stronger than the storm. I know a God who pursues us with a deep and conquering love that no power can ever come against. The enemy cannot take what is written for you. The enemy cannot take what is built in the fight, and he cannot take what is meant to posture the production of character.
Pages are binding together to tell a better story. Your present is not your future, your present is a reminder that there is more for you. You are made for something far greater than your mind’s eye can realize.
This hurt is not your shame, this hurt is not your identity, this hurt is not your story. You were made for more, you were created for more than waves hitting the shore. Keep pressing in, keep fighting, keep loving stronger, and keep putting one foot in front of the other. Never give up on what’s to come for this season will pass. Your pain will not take from your promise. Your pain will lead you to it.
If it is a person that causes the pain, pray this over them. Love them anyway and seek solitude in the changing of your soul. Hurt people hurt people. The person that has hurt or is hurting you is offered the same hope because they are loved by the same God.
The breaking is making you into the person made to receive a unique promise. Your pain is not your story, your pain is leading you to promise.
And when the page finally turns, do not seek to burn what was written. The pages filled with pain will be others’ gain and God’s glory. It is through your story that hope is found and God’s name will be renowned.
Nothing is wasted.
