I am extremely passionate about women of all ages recognizing the precious and rare goodness that God has put inside of us. I think part of that reason might be because, after so many years of fighting who God made me to be, I am finally embracing it. I’m not saying it’s easy, and I certainly have not mastered it. What I am saying is that I’m trying and wow, it’s liberating! For the days where we forget or doubt or even wonder if we have a place in this world, I want to remind you (and me) there are a few things we all have that no one else has.

Why We Should Rest (and How NOT to Feel Guilty About It)
One thing I learned in 2017 is the value of rest. Rest is a BIG DEAL and we often ignore it. I used to (and sometimes still) get crazy anxious on the days I tried to rest. Instead of focusing on rest, I focused on how I was not doing anything and put pressure on myself to tackle another to-do on my constantly growing list. But this is not always reality. Let’s face it- sometimes the holidays hurt. For many people, the holidays are an incredibly painful time of year, and their Christmas season is anything but a picturesque Hallmark movie scene. I used to be among this group of people who would dread this time of year, and sometimes, I still am.
